“Passion”

God created us to be passionate about what we love, therefore we should always be passionate for Him!

“Fan”- it simply means “an enthusiastic follower.”

Jesus says we are to follow Him and we should do this enthusiastically or passionately.

Mark 1:17 “Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

Luke 9:23 “Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

Luke 10:27 “So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.”

The word “enthusiasm” comes from two words, en and theos, meaning “in God.”

We are there to celebrate the God of the universe who loves us.

God’s Word is our ultimate authority, and the church’s teaching should reflect the glory, greatness, and goodness of God.

*When we are passionate for God, we can’t help but instantly engage in worship just like we instantly engage in our teams fight song.

Psalm 22:3 “But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.”

In order for worship to be authentic, we must be passionate for God.

John 4:23-24 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Genuine spiritual passion comes from the hearts, but it manifests itself in our emotions and lifestyles.

2 Corinthians 5:14 “For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died.”

Whatever you passionate about, you will be emotional about.

Romans 14:17 “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

Galatians 5:22-23

Psalm 100:2 “Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.”

2 Corinthians 9:7 “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Our passion for God and His Word should exceed every other passion in our lives, because passion for God makes a difference in advancing the kingdom of heaven.
