“REVELATION”
7:1-17
The 144,000 Servants of God:
The Work of the Angels:
7:1-3
In chapter 7 the angels supervise the administration of two things.
- They control the wind from the four corners of the earth. 7:1
- They seal the servants of God, the 144,000 Tribulation witnesses.
Who are the 144,000?
If we let the plain sense of Scripture make common sense, it becomes clear that the 144,000 are Jews. For John specifically states, “And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed.” Rev. 7:4
Twelve thousand from each of the twelve tribes means exactly 12,000. Rev. 7:5-8.
The word “servant” Rev. 7:3 means bond-slaves of Christ.
God’s seal on their foreheads- Rev. 7:3
We also know in Revelation 13:14-18 that people will be forced to receive the mark of the beast on their foreheads.
Ezekiel 9:1-12
The Holy Spirit and the 144,000:
The Holy Spirit will most assuredly be here to empower the ministry of the 144,000. The prophet Joel foresaw this ministry of the Spirit of God in Joel 2:28-32
Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward…”
What message will the 144,000 preach?
There is only one gospel. Galatians 1:8-9 “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, If anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.”
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
The great harvest of souls during the Tribulation: Rev. 7:9
A great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language.
The Redeemed Multitude: Rev.7:9
The people will be from every nation, tribe, people and language.
Praise His name!
The Multitude Before the Throne:
Rev 7:9.
Their song- Rev. 7:10
Angels Rejoice when Men Are Saved: Rev. 7:11-12
Luke 15:7
“The angels of heaven rejoice when one sinner comes to repentance.”
Identity of the Multitude: Rev. 7:13-14
The answer comes these are the ones who come out of the great tribulation and washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Eternal Rewards for This Multitude: Rev. 7:15
- They are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple.
- And He who sits on the throne will spread His tent over them. This is the same promise given to us in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 “And so we will be with the Lord forever.”
- Their ever need will be supplied. Rev. 7:16-17
- And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Rev. 7:17
This offer will be extended to the church in Rev. 21:4
