“THE TEN COMMANDMENTS”

“HOW DO WE CARRY OUT THE COMMANDS?”

EXODUS 20:1-17

So now, How Do We Carry Out the Ten Commandments?

How do we satisfy this standard?

The solution to our failures is “Grace.”

Galatians 3:19 “What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator.”

The law is good but it stirs up evil within us.

Romans 7:5 “For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.”

Understanding Grace:

John 1:16-17 “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

The Law came through Moses but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

What does that mean?

Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Jesus Christ satisfied the Law. Jesus satisfied the law by His sinless life, living His life for 33 years fulfilling and satisfying the Law. So He is qualified to be our Savior on the cross.

2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Let me tell you how big this account is:

2 Corinthians 9:8-11

God has given us enough funds to take care of our charges.

The deposit of grace. So if we have all that grace in our bank account how do we access and use it?

Galatians 2:19-21

We have to die to the Law in order to live to God. The job of grace is to supply you with all you need to satisfy all the demands that are written in the Law.

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

On the day you came to Christ you entered a spiritual union with Him, like a marriage, it is inseparable.

Jesus wants to live in and through you, so you can show others who He is, and that they will want Him in their lives. We are blessed to be blessings.

We activate the Holy Spirit by grace through faith- vs 20 “and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Matthew 11:28-30- “Rest” in Jesus- yoke up with Him.

2 Corinthians 4:10-11 “Always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.”

So how does this work, how do I satisfy the demands of the law?

Titus 2:11-13

vs.12-13 “…in the present age, 13looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Colossians 3:1-2

Grace living, is victorious living. This world is not our home, we are visiting this world, our home is in heaven.
