“ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE?”

“ARE YOU A GOOD INVESTMENT?”

COLOSSIANS 4:7-9

Onesimus- a runaway slave of Philemon

Tychicus- was a faithful member of Paul’s missionary team.

Tychicus- means fortunate or lucky.

Colossians 4:7-8 “Tychicus, a beloved brother, faithful minister, and fellow servant in the Lord, will tell you all the news about me. 8I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that he may know your circumstances and comfort your hearts.”

Paul says three things about Tychicus:

1.   Beloved Brother- Colossians 4:7 “Tychicus, a beloved brother…”

2 Peter 3:15 “and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you.”

Can someone call you a beloved brother or sister in the Lord?

If you have a love for God, you will also have a love for others:

1 John 4:10-13,19 

2.   Faithful Minister- Colossians 4:7 “faithful minister…”

Ephesians 6:21 “But that you also may know my affairs and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make all things known to you.”

Colossians 1:7 “As you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf.”

Epaphras- was a faithful minister.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20

You are a minister of God, but are you faithful?

1 Corinthians 4:2 “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”

3.   Fellow Servant- Colossians 4:7 “and fellow servant in the Lord…”

Colossians 1:7 “As you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant…”

Epaphras was also a fellow servant.

Revelation 22:9 “Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” 

“Onesimus”- Colossians 4:9 “With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will make known to you all things which are happening here.”

Onesimus- means profitable

Philemon 1:9-11

1.   Faithful Brother- Colossians 4:9 “a faithful brother…”

2.   Beloved Brother- Colossians 4:9 “a beloved brother…”

3.   “Who is one of you…”- Colossians 4:9

Onesimus was profitable!!

Are you profitable for God? Are you a good investment for Him to put His resources in? Are you profitable to others?

What type of return have you given God on His investment in you?
