“ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE?”

“HOW TO HANDLE A CRISIS”

COLOSSIANS 1:18-20

Three Ways God Supplies A Way Of Escape From Coming Crisis

Colossians 1:18-20 “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”

1.   Jesus Christ Is The Head Of The Body- The Church

Colossians 1:18 “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”

Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

If you want to survive then you need to submit to Christ and to His church. We can sit around and talk about how tough life is or we can sit around and talk about how great Jesus is.

James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

2.   We Need To Understand We Have A Conquering Savior

Why should we submit to Christ?

Colossians 1:18-19 “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell.”

Jesus is always in front of His troops leading them on. We can trust Him with our lives.

“He is the beginning”-He started it all- vs.16 “All things were created through Him and for Him.”

“Firstborn from the dead.”-vs.15 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” This is His title, He is the pioneer, He has founded the new race of beings. He is the firstborn of every creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

“In all things He may have the preeminence.”

Christ wants first place in all things, He want to be first before anything else.

Philippians 2:9-11 “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Jesus Christ will one day have preeminence in all things. Either by faith or force.

How much time during the week does your mind dwell on Him?

Isaiah 26:3-4 “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. 4Trust in the Lord forever, For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.”

Does Jesus Christ have preeminence in your life?

Colossians 1:19 “For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell.”

Colossians 2:9 “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”

Jesus Christ is all of God in the flesh.

Ephesians 1:22-23 “And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”

Ephesians 3:19 “To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

As believers our lives are too manifest all the fulness of God.

Do you?

Ephesians 5:18 “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.”

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Allow God to fill you with all things. Does He? If not, Why?

3.   No Matter How Bad It Gets We Already Have A Assured Victory.

Colossians 1:20 “And by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”

“Having made peace”

Romans 5:1 “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Galatians 5:22-23

Philippians 4:6-7

Will you submit to the Lordship of Christ?

He is the Redeemer- Col. 1:14

He is the image of the invisible God, firstborn of creation-vs.15

He is the Creator-vs.16

He is the Eternal Sustainer-vs.17

He is the Head of the Church-vs.18

In Him all fulness dwells-vs.19

He is the Reconciler-vs.20

Will you allow Him to have preeminence in everything in your life?

Will you allow Him to fill you with His fulness?

If you do those things the peace of God will rule your heart!
