“ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE?”

“INTEGRITY-FOCUSED OBEDIENCE”

COLOSSIANS 3:22-25

Colossians 3:22-25 “Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. 23And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. 25But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.”

Three Things To Understand:

1.   Understand Who We Are- Colossians 3:22 “Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.”

Paul is saying you can have the fullness of God no matter where you are at, you can live victoriously.

2.   Understand Who Are Our Masters- Colossians 3:22 “Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.”

“Masters”= lord, someone in the position of authority.

“According to the flesh”-their influence stops at your body, they have no control over your soul or spirit.

“Fearing God”- God is the ultimate Master:

Luke 12:4-5 “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!”

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

“Not with eye service” working only when others are watching.

3.   Understand Who God Is In All Of This- Colossians 3:23 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”

Are you giving “full effort?”

“Whatever you do”- you cannot separate your spiritual life from the physical life or secular life. Jesus owns us 24/7. He is our Master all the time:

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Do you give your employer full effort?

Does God get your full effort?

*God Will Reward:

Colossians 3:24-25 “knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. 25But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.”

Ephesians 6:5-8 “Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.”

God is keeping track and He will reward accordingly.

vs.25 “and there is no partiality.”- There is no respect of persons with God.

Are you focused? Obedient to God and your bosses?
