“ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE?”

“LIFE & DEATH-WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH YOUR LIFE?”

COLOSSIANS 3:4-7

Colossians 3:4-7 “When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. 5Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.”

“When Christ who is our life appears…” vs.4- there is coming a day when Christ shall appear, will you be living in a way that is pleasing to Him?

“… then you also will appear with Him in glory.” vs.4

vs.4 “Christ who is our life”- Christ is our life, now and forever.

Hebrews 9:24 “For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.”

What will you do with the life God has given you?

Example of the parable of the talents: Matthew 25:14-30

Our life depends on Christ not our faithfulness or our works.

Ephesians 5:15-16 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

vs.4 “who is our life”- Jesus Christ is our life.

Christ Will Appear:

1 Peter 5:2-4 “Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.”

vs.4 “then you also will appear with Him in glory.”

2 Peter 1:17-18

Acts 1:9-11

Jesus Christ will appear again and we will appear with Him in glory.

2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”

You will receive what you have done, whether good or bad.

1 Peter 1:7 “That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

1 John 2:28 “And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.”

1 John 3:1-3

1 Timothy 6:13-14

2 Timothy 4:1 “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom.”

2 Timothy 4:8 “Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”

Titus 2:11-14

The Death Principle:

Colossians 3:5 “Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

“Therefore put to death”

John 12:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”

You have to die to your own self interest and allow Christ to live in you.

vs.5 “Therefore”

We are responsible with our life because Christ will appear.

“Put to death”- to deaden

You are too deaden the flesh, make it useless.

Galatians 6:14 “But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

The only deadening substance is the Cross.

Once we were dead in sin, now as believers we are dead to sin:

Romans 6:6-13

Romans 8:13 “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”

Are you filled with the Spirit?

Galatians 5:16 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

Galatians 5:22-25

Romans 13:14 “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”

Are you ready to meet Christ in glory?
