“ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE”

“SHARING THE GOSPEL”

COLOSSIANS 1:25-29

Paul’s Mission And Concern:

Colossians 1:25-29 “Of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, 26the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.”

Three Things Paul Wants Us To See:

1.   Ministry

Colossians 1:25 “Of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God.”

“Stewardship”-dispensation, administration, economy, order, the way in which God structures things.

Malachi 3:6 ““For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Stewardship-the way God dispenses His grace in different periods of time

Ephesians 3:2 “If indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you.”

Has God’s grace been dispensed to you? Have you received God’s salvation for you? Do you know that you have the eternal life of God dwelling in you by His grace?

Do you have a ministry dispensing that grace to others?

Colossians 1:25 “…which was given to me for you..” It is aimed at you. True Biblical ministry is aimed at people. There is no ministry without people.

Ephesians 4:1 “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.”

Are you dispensing God’s grace to people?

Colossians 1:25 “… to fulfill the word of God.”

Ministry: is to fulfill the Word of God; it has to do with dispensing the grace of God; It is aimed at people.

Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.”

2.   Mystery

Colossians 1:26-27 “The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

“Mystery”- a mystery is something that was at one time hidden but is now revealed. It is now open and clearly revealed.

Romans 16:25-27 “Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began 26but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith— 27to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever.”

The mystery:

Colossians 1:27 “which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Romans 8:1-12

Victory comes in your life when you realize you are in Christ and Christ is in you.

3.   Mission

Colossians 1:28-29 “Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.”

Our mission is to get men and women and children ready to meet the Lord. Getting people ready for Christ’s second coming. My job is to get you ready for His coming, so when He comes you will not be ashamed.

Colossians 1:22-23 “in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— 23if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”

Are you ready to meet the Lord?

The method of the mission.

Colossians 1:29 “To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.”
