Who was this man? “a bondservant of Christ” vs.12

Colossians 1:7 “a fellow bondservant,” also a “faithful minister of Christ.”

In Philemon 1:23 “my fellow prisoner in Jesus Christ” with Paul.

“Beloved physician”

Acts 16:10 “Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.”

Luke served God and ministered to people through his profession. We all have a mission field.

How does God want to use your profession to reach others for Jesus Christ?

3.   Demas- Colossians 4:14 “Luke the beloved physician and Demas greet you.”

“Demas”

Philemon 1:24 “Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you, as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow laborers.

2 Timothy 4:10 “for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.”

Demas left Paul, he forsook Paul having loved this present world.

Titus 2:12 “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.”

1 John 2:15-16

1 John 2:19 “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.”

James 4:4 “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”

Love not the world, love God!!
