“ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE?”

“TRUE FELLOWSHIP”

COLOSSIANS 4:10-11

John 21:25 “And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.”

We will see three people today that we can learn from, these are Jewish believers:

  1.   Aristarchus- Colossians 4:10 “Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you…”

Acts 19:28-29 “Now when they heard this, they were full of wrath and cried out, saying, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!” 29So the whole city was filled with confusion, and rushed into the theater with one accord, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul’s travel companions.”

He was from Macedonia and from the city of Thessalonioca

Acts 20:1-4

Vs.10 “my fellow prisoner,” he was in jail with Paul

Philemon 1:23-24 “23Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you, 24as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow laborers.”

2 Timothy 1:8 “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God.”

Aristarchus means best ruler, sovereign master.

2.   Mark- Colossians 4:10 “with Mark the cousin of Barnabas (about whom you received instructions: if he comes to you, welcome him).”

Acts 12:12, 25 “So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying. 25And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their ministry, and they also took with them John whose surname was Mark.”

Mark or Marcus means hammer.

Acts 13:5 “And when they arrived in Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. They also had John as their assistant.”

Acts 13:13 “Now when Paul and his party set sail from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia; and John, departing from them, returned to Jerusalem.”

Acts 15:36-40

The Principle here: If you are going to succeed you must fail and learn from your failures.

Colossians 4:10 “…with Mark the cousin of Barnabas (about whom you received instructions: if he comes to you, welcome him).”

2 Timothy 4:11 “Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry.”

3.   Justus- Colossians 4:11 “And Jesus who is called Justus. These are my only fellow workers for the kingdom of God who are of the circumcision; they have proved to be a comfort to me.”

Justus- means just one, one who does that which is right.

Vs.11 “…they have proved to be a comfort to me

Four Aspects of True Fellowship:

  1.   “These are my only…” Colossians 4:11

Philippians 3:10 “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.”

2.   “… fellow workers” Colossians 4:11

3.   “… for the kingdom of God”  Colossians 4:10

2 Corinthians 8:23 “If anyone inquires about Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker concerning you. Or if our brethren are inquired about, they are messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ.”

Philippians 1:7 “Just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace.”

4.   “…they have proved to be a comfort to me.” Colossians 4:11

Fellowship is building each other up:

Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.”

Romans 14:19 “Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.”

Are you willing to be a servant?

Are you willing to learn from your failure so you can succeed?
