CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

“THERE IS MORE TO CHRISTMAS THAN JESUS’ BIRTH”

As you celebrate Christmas this year by celebrating Jesus Christ our Savior, consider the following thoughts to help inform your celebration and the celebration you have with others:

  1.   Enjoy Your Day- Jesus Cares

Did I mention that Christmas can be full of pressure?

*Jesus demonstrates His love and cares even when we as His people do not understand or at times even believe.

*Jesus shows He cares in the Word of God.

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

*Regardless of what pressure you face today or this Christmas season remember Jesus cares. He offers to help in our suffering.

Hebrews 2:18 “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.”

Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

2.   Good News- Jesus Saves

John 3:17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

3.   Fresh Hope- Jesus Forgives

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

4.   Constant Encouragement- Jesus Intercedes

1 John 2:1-2 “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”

Hebrews 4:14-16 “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
