“TIS THE SEASON”

“PEACE”

LUKE 2:13-14

Luke 2:13-14 “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude

of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

“Peace” shalom, the purpose of Christmas is joy and we cannot have joy without peace.

*Christmas Brought Peace

Luke 2:14 “…And on earth peace…”

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Jesus came to bring peace!

“Peace”-wholeness, completeness, when everything works together.

1.   Peacemaking Is Your Role

Romans 12:18 “If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”

Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.”

Jesus made it possible for us to have peace with God.

Romans 5:1

2.   Be Flexible

Colossians 3:13 “Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”

Philippians 2:3-5

3.   Now Is Not The Time.

Proverbs 29:11 “A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back.”

Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”

Psalm 141:3 “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.”

4.   Forgive Offenders Ahead Of Time.

Colossians 3:13 “Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”

If you want peace, you have to make peace.

Will you be a troublemaker or a peacemaker?
